My favourite fried chicken wings (Buffalo wings), which I discovered two years ago while on an expedition to Kampar, are finally here in Ipoh.
Yes! You heard me right. Wing Zone opens its doors for business today (Jan 27, 2016) in Ipoh, the third outlet in Malaysia! Are you as excited as I am?
Wing Zone is best known for its chicken wings that are oil-fried without any seasoning. The food served here is cooked to order, which means no more pre-processed food!
What’s special about these fried wings is that you can mix and match SIXTEEN distinctive flavours with the wings, which makes every trip to the restaurant something different to look forward to.
These sixteen award-winning flavours are imported from the United States of America. They come in five categories of Traditional Buffalo Flavours, Wing Zone Favourites, Sweet With No Heat, Dry Rub Flavours and Sweet & Spicy Flavours.
You can select your choice based on the level of spiciness, which is indicated on the menu with the numbers of chillies – the Heat Index, so to speak.
Of course, besides being known for the fried chicken wings and this array of flavours, Wing Zone also boasts a good number of signature burgers. Another of my favourite is the boneless chicken; succulent and flavourful.
Although this concept of selling restaurant-quality fried chicken wings at a fast food level of service began in 1991, the first restaurant was only established in 1993 at the University of Florida in Gainesville by its two founders who were college students there at the time.
To date, there are a total of 150 Wing Zone restaurants worldwide in sixteen countries. However, all of these three Halal-certified Wing Zone restaurants in Malaysia are located in Perak.
BREAKING NEWS: Wing Zone Ipoh is running an opening promotion of Buy 1 Get 1 FREE from Jan 27 to 31 (5 days) from 4pm to 10pm. For dine-in only. Other terms and conditions may apply.
BIRTHDAY OFFER: Celebrate your birthday at Wing Zone and enjoy a single combo meal at 50% off!
Besides dining in, customers can also take away, call ahead for pick-up or have their orders delivered. Home delivery is only within a 5-kilometre radius and has a RM2 surcharge. Minimum order is RM20.
All prices stated above are inclusive of 6% GST. The restaurant does not charge any service tax. For more information, log on to the official Facebook Page of Wing Zone Malaysia.
