To all lovers of spicy food, I have good news for you. Bar.Racuda Restaurant & Bar, as far as I am aware, is the only restaurant in Greentown Avenue that serves authentic spicy Indian curries that have ‘oomph’ in them and, for a change, are not salty.

Even better news, for an air-conditioned restaurant, prices are really reasonable. One can enjoy a mouth-watering lunch for under RM20.

I know a lot of friends who are not willing to go for a spicy meal for lunch because they don’t want to get all sweaty and end up smelling of curry at the office after their lunch break. Well, that will never happen at Bar.Racuda.

Jointly opened by three Ipoh born and bred gentlemen since August 2013, Bar.Racuda has changed people’s impression of an Indian curry rice joint.
kurma chicken
Local lunch sets are priced at a budget-friendly RM6.90 nett, which comprises of rice and three side dishes of vegetables, with complimentary top-ups. This promotional price is valid until May 2014.
tandoori chicken
Add-ons of varieties of chicken, mutton and fish are priced from RM7.90 to RM12.90.
fish curry
Those who prefer Western food can opt for a main dish of either pan-fried creamy butter fish or grilled chicken with onion tomato gravy. Western menu changes monthly. Priced at RM15.90, each set comes with soup of the day, fruity jelly dessert and coffee or tea.
mutton varuval
As for dinner, an à la carte menu is available, which boasts local, European and Italian cuisines.
deep fried pomfret
Operating from an refurbished bungalow, this non-smoking restaurant can cater to events and functions, for up to 100 pax. Not to worry, there’s ample parking space within the compound.
Western lunch sets
As for the bar, named Pallet Bar, bar hours are from 12 noon to midnight, with Happy Hours from opening until 8pm only. Ladies night is on Thursdays, where cocktails are on the house.
grilled chicken with onion tomato gravy
Beginning from March, there will be a live band playing reggae music from 6.30pm to 10pm. Unlike at other bars, this band aims to soothe the ears of patrons with soft music.
